welcome to my part of the Christmas open house swap

Merry Christmas everyone!
I thought I'd share my tree and some traditions of mine with you's for the open house.
My tree is a very diferent tree than most people have as there is very little on it that is shiny and bright. Rather my tree has mostly handmade ornies and quite an extensive moose ornie collection that I have been gifted with over the years by my stampin friends and shackies. This year I got a very pretty white glittery rusty tin moose from Jan, thanks Jan, I love it, and actually loved it so much...I made one for Sherri. Speaking of Sherri ( flipflopsfor Sherri) she sent me this adorable sock moose, he's hanging out under my tree, cause I can't stop picking him up...he's just that cute! I decided to put up my prim 4 foot tree this year instead of my big one, as we have A kitten in the house, and he's into EVERYTHING! so I set up my skinny tree on a table and so far so good. This year I baked some goodies for gifts for some of my friends and family..this pan of choclolate almond brownie squares were one of the things I baked along with chocolate chip cookies and apple cranberry bread. let me tell you..these brownie squares shoukld be illegal they are so good.lol Last night I met some friends out and handed out candy treat bags to them. here is a pic of me & Teresa from last night. Christams eve night we go to Df's sisters house for supper and his family's celebration. Christmas day we go to my folks for my familys celebration, we have a wonderful dinner and do the tree. After my family's celebration for the last 3 years my brother and I sneak off for a couple hours and meet some of my friends at an oriental restraunt for a volcano bowl, yumm. I posted a pic from last Years get together since this years hasn't happened yut, tehehe. I then meet df back home and we hang out together for the rest of the afternoon and evening, often he'll watch movies and I'll hang at the shack and work on my first swap due in January. SO thats my holiday agenda and a glimpse at my holiday traditions. I wish you and yours all a very Merry Christmas.

finding the right tree

I love this funny image by eat cake graphics. I crack up every time I use it. I used my cuttlebug border embossing folder both on the top & botttom of this card. Then I traced over the stems with dark green prisma marker, and, added red stickle berries. lots of stickles in chrytsal on the image.
tis the season for plenty of bling!

ho ho ho..A christmas kitty

I got this cute kitty image in an image swap at the stamp shack. I stamped a santa hat and stickled it up and dressed up the cute kitty for the season. best of all, I used paper scraps to make this card..I'm always so proud to use my paper scraps up, I hate waste.

peace & happiness

I made this card today using my new silver ribbon I got at M's on Saturday. I embossed the snowflake with silver ink and silver glitter embossing powder. flake stamp is cee dee's and the saying stamp is from papertrey. I bought this Christmas saying set from Erin, and I love it! Thanks Erin.

snowing in Maine

Mother nature is making the fur trees pretty for the season! we went for a woods ride today and it was snowing big fluffy flakes. it's not amounting to much, but it sure made for pretty trees.

craft fair put on by the Autism society of maine

yup, Saturday was my last craft fair of the season. I did it with my bff Tracey, we traveled about 90 miles south to the Augsssta area for this craft fair, and well also because we knew we would blow our earnings at Micheals!! lol it was not my biggest money maker, but it was to raise money for a good cause, and of course Tracey & I had fun. here are a few pics. Check out tyhe awesome hand painted coat Tracey had on. Her cousin from Texas sent it to her, and it was a hit wherever we went.

Changito is decking the halls

here is the official start to my Christmas cards..and I know, I know, I'm late!! I hope I can get enough done so as not to leave anyone out.

I got just cold enough to give this cute changito shovel monkey a work out, lol I used 2 different boarder punches, and lots of stickles on this card. I colored it with prisma and copic markers.

coaster ornies

I saw these someplace..for the life of me I can't remember where..I should have written it down. They are made from round coasters(my trip to the bar last night was strickly for art purposes...NOT!) lol
I covered them with paper, inked the edges and added a stamped image to one and a glittery felt snowflake to the other. The top is Stampin Up! tag punch..love that thing! then I finished it off with some stickles, fiber, and ribbon. fun and easy to make. get your self some round coasters and give them a try.

kitty thank you card

this is a cute story. My brother Dave took in a baby stray kitty when it was only maybe 5 or 6 weeks old. something happened to it's mother and poor kitty was alone. So, Dave adpoted him and his name is LB. Our dads cousin Jim heard about Dave & Lb and at the time Dave was out of work & waiting for disabilty, so he really didn't have extra money for kitty care. Cousin Jim is an an aimal lover, so he started a "trust fund" for LB's vet expenses and meds and stuff. Every so often he adds to it so Dave has $ for Lb's care. well Dave called & asked me to make a thank you card for Jim..he must have made another deposit. so here's the card I made and a pic of Dave with LB.

I had to try it. and I liked how easy it is, and how you can make so many different shaped clouds. here is my first card with clouds!

happy birthday..you old bird

I sell my cards at the hair studio and day psa I work at. well I got there today and my card rack was looking a little empty, I checked and I sold 10 cards..woohoo! so, now it's time to restock, here's a start. stamps by inkadinkado, I colored this with prisma markers, and prisma pencils.

who says a wedding card can't have some bright color?

not me...thats for sure! I used studio G dollar stamps on this, and some blingy dots from stampemendous. also I added stardust stickles for some bling on the embossed background.
I got the cute heart charm at joans in the wedding aisle, I'll be using these for wedding and Valentine cards too.

in celebration of gas prices going down

I'm wantimg to post some pics of our boat!! it's a 28 foot Bayliner comptessa..yup, thats right, a cabin cruiser, she sleeps 6, has a galley and a bathroom. I LOVE sitting up on the fly bridge and soaking up the sun and fresh air. we are lucky to be so close to the ocean. the river we moore in is tidal and we can be out in the bay in 40 minutes. we love to cruise to Belfast, castine, campden and Rockland. Df has taken her to Deer Isle as well..but I missed that trip. we are hoping to have a full summer of boating this coming summer. so here are a couple pics of the boat, and one of our Friend Bill catching a nice striped bass.

card challenge..sort of

one of my shackies friends offered a few of us this cute image to make a card with,. the stipulation was we have to send our card to another shackie..as an RAK. so this is the super cute image and the card I made with it. I didn't add a lot of embellies, just some stickles on the sunflower centers and a little paper piercing along the scallop border.

gift card holders

I have made a bunch of these gift card holders to sell. I sold a lot at my last craft fair. I will be selling these at my next craft fair, at the store I sell my crafts in, and also at work. these are fun & easy to make..really kinda addictive! lol Thnaks to Christie for showing me how.

I used stamps from clear dollar stamps on this card. As you can see I'm in love with my nestabilities, I use them all the time. Hmm..I wonder which of my shackie friends will get this birthday card??

barnyard friends

the image ion the front is by wood cellar graphics. I pop dotted the oval the image is mounted on, onto the card front. the inside of the card reads your friendship makes my heart happy.

some funny signs

for those of you who wanted to see a few of my funny signs I sold so many of at the craft fair, here's 3 to show you. As you can see they are very simple and rough, made out of cedar shingles. Some I stamp on, others I don't.

my craft fair table

I did the big 2 day Zonta craft fair this past weekend. Since I love to craft I thought a pic of my booth might be a good first post. as you can see lots of wood, and some paper, and some fabric crafts too. Sewing is not my fave craft..but I like to have some fabric projects on my table. I had a good show, and am so pleased with the great job the Zonta club of Brewer does in putting on this show.
