PARADISE- here is a tropical themed canvas i did yesterday & today..I had to escape from all this snowy cold..even if just through my art.

here is a project I made for this weeks challenge at the Cheery Lynn blog. i used a bunch of Cheery lynn dies, 2 doily dies, 3 flower dies,  and a butterfly..woo hoo lots of Cheery lynn fun. the butterfly girl is a stamp  from My favorite thins, and the fly free saying is a stamp from unity.

it's that time..yup, craft fair season and my first one is tomorrow. here is  last minute project I am taking with me

a chipboard birdcage

so this is done with the Tim Holtz birdcage die..love this thing! I used tattered rose distress ink on the cage, inked the bird with tea dye distress ink, and the background is done with shimmer mist in a rose color sprayed directly on the chipboard, giving it a brown/rose color. added a few feathers, my handmade paper flowers and gemstones and buttons.

yes, my addiction to making paper flowers is alive and well. this week I tried making  some from vellum..love how they turned out. I think I will try the vellum with my cheery  lynn cutie dies next.

I made another 8x10 mixed media canvass today, here it is, stamps are unity, I used paints, distress inks and some paper on here. :)

yup, i got brave today and took my purple/silver butterfly art journal page to an 8x10 canvas...scary but I am happy with it.

I had teh hardest time trying to figure out what I wanted on teh cover. SO while napping yesterday (napping can be productive) it came to me, so here it is, just as I envisioned while dozing off.

here is a card I made using some flowers i made from paper scraps..thanks Jess Kinderstampo for all the lessons in how to make my flat paper flowers come to life. I painted the edges of them with lindys starburst spray..LOVE that stuff!

It's Bethuary!

yes you read that right, this month is my friend Beths birth month. we have dubbed it BETHuary. So I made her this tag as part of her gift. I made it with chipboard and added magnetic strips to the back so it is a magnet. teh flower is made from punches and cheap card stock, but i love the dimension I got from it.

making fun flowers

hah happy accident here..I was using my lindys stamp gang starburst sprays & I used a paper towl in the box use to spray in..well teh next day I went to spray something else and saw how pretty the paper towel looked..so my brain started thinking hey, I should try to make some flowers with this. so I used my bigshot and nesties and wow..now I have some very pretty flowers, and I recycled!!! gotta love happy accidents

I made a sparkly card for Tanya, cause she adds sparkle to my life with her fun challenges and upbeat attitude. I used starburst sprays from Lindy's stamp gang in 2 shades of pink on the paper doily and then glittered the silk flowers for more sparkle. I added a cute owl on the card and another one inside that I made into a magnet.

I altered an old window

I added rusty tin fence with small wreath, a snowman, star and greenery swag with a few prim berry sprigs. i then added a strand of mini clear Christmas lights to it.

you've got a friend in me

I made this CArd for the Paperhoarders group. The DT was asked to MAke a project about something you are thankful for. This was a hard theme for me right now as i am losing a close relitive right now, he is passing from pancreatic cancer and I am deeply saddened by this. so I am not feeling all that grateful right now. Then I started to think about it and realized the thing that never fails to lift me up and make me feel better is my close friendships. So even in this time of worry and sorrow, I have my friendships to be thankful for. teh stamps are stampin up! and I used shimmer spray from LIndy's stamp gang on the slik flowers and the flourishy thing.

slat flag

this is a slat flag I made from a cedar shingle, scrap of pine(teh star) and slats from a building over 100 years old. it's pretty good size..the longest slat measures 16 inches long.

SALE!!! haha, got your attention didn't I? today there is a sale at
Lindsay's stamp stuff, go forth and shop..she has some great stuff. ok, now I have an atc here that I made with the pink ribbon digi stamp from lindsays. I outlined it with a glue pen and sprinkled on glitter..I love glitter! the saying is a stamp of unknown source.
